SPINY OYSTER SHELL: The Spiny Oyster Shell is named for the spiny protuberances (up to 2 inches long) that cover the outer shell of the mollusk. Colors of the shell range from a bright orange, to a rich red, and a deep purple. Spiny oyster shells are found in the Gulf of California.
